Olivia’s Strength Meets Endurance
How a 14-Year-Old Reached Her First Half Marathon Goal
At just 14 years old, Olivia is already showing how the right strength training can elevate an athlete’s performance across multiple sports.
In March 2026, she completed her first half marathon at Disney, finishing in under two hours and beating her goal by three minutes. For Olivia, this milestone reflected months of consistency, discipline, and physical preparation outside of her running programs.
From New Challenge to Big Goals
Her endurance journey began earlier when she completed a 10-mile race at Disney in April 2025. After that experience, she set a new goal for herself: break two hours in the half marathon. With just over a year of running experience, Olivia committed to building the strength and durability needed to support that goal.
Since beginning strength training at Performance Lab in October 2025, Olivia has been working twice a week with a focus on improving overall strength, stability, and muscular endurance. That training has translated directly to her running.
Olivia’s mom shared that Olivia feels noticeably stronger, with improved endurance that has made long-distance running feel more controlled and manageable. That physical development played an important role in her ability to successfully train for and complete her first half marathon.
Strength Training That Supports Every Season
Beyond the physical improvements, Olivia’s experience at Performance Lab has also supported her consistency and confidence. Her mom described the environment as welcoming and encouraging, with trainers who are friendly and a strong sense of community that makes Olivia look forward to training. The one-on-one sessions have been especially valuable, allowing for individualized strength work that fits her needs as a multi-sport athlete.
Balancing track, cross country, and road racing, Olivia relies on a flexible training schedule that supports her year-round development. Strength training has become a key part of that foundation, helping her stay healthy, confident, and prepared for competition.
What’s Next for Olivia
Looking ahead, Olivia plans to continue training at Performance Lab as she prepares for upcoming track seasons and future endurance events. Her goals include new personal records this season, another half marathon at Disney, and eventually working toward a full marathon and collegiate running.
For Olivia, strength training is not just an addition to her routine. It is a foundation that supports everything she does as an athlete..
