Returning Stronger: Jenny Vetter’s Journey from Physical Therapy back to Professional Soccer
Jenny Vetter is a professional soccer player for Åland United and former Minnesota State University standout who has built her career competing at a high level while navigating the demands that come with it.
Like many athletes in elite sport, she also faced a long-term injury that required more than traditional rehabilitation to fully work through.

What made the difference in her return was not just the physical therapy rehab itself, but how smoothly it connected into performance training through our Return-to-Play Program.
At Performance Lab, Jenny was able to move directly from physical therapy into structured training, creating a seamless partnership between recovery and return-to-sport development that supported her as a professional soccer player getting back to competition.
A Connected Path Through Recovery and Performance
Rather than ending physical therapy and starting over somewhere new, Jenny’s care stayed within one coordinated system. She transitioned from physical therapy at Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic directly into training at Performance Lab.
This allows athletes to stay in an environment where physical therapists and performance coaches are aligned on the same goal. Helping them return to sport safely and with confidence.
For Jenny, that consistency mattered.
“I have been so impressed with the attention and care I’ve received while training at Performance Lab,” she shared. “Recovering from a long-term injury is never easy, but I feel stronger than ever thanks to the personalized approach Landon and his team take.”
Rebuilding More than Recovery
What stands out in Jenny’s story is not just that she returned to play. It is how she rebuilt her performance as a professional soccer player.
Instead of stopping and restarting between physical therapy and training, her progression stayed continuous. As her physical therapy work shifted into strength and performance training, her plan adapted with her.
That kind of structure removes a common challenge athletes face after injury. Not knowing what the next step looks like.
“The Performance Lab is a place that prioritizes athletes’ wellbeing and long-term goals and is able to put it into practice with their knowledge, experience, and high-quality training center,” Jenny said.
For a professional athlete, that bridge between phases can be the difference between getting back and getting back at a higher level.

A Shared Approach to Performance
The collaboration between the physical therapy team at Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic and Performance Lab training is built around one goal. Supporting athletes through every stage of recovery and return to sport.
Instead of treating physical therapy and performance as separate systems, they work together to support:
Restoring movement and function through physical therapy
Building strength and capacity through performance training
Preparing athletes, including professional soccer players, for the demands of competition
This approach keeps athletes from having to figure out the transition on their own. They are guided through it.
Moving Forward Stronger
Jenny’s experience reflects what happens when care and performance are aligned.
Her journey as a professional soccer player shows what is possible when the process is connected, intentional, and built around long-term development.
This is the goal of the partnership between physical therapy and Performance Lab training. Helping athletes return stronger, more confident, and ready for what is next.
We help athletes bridge the gap so they can keep progressing, not just return.
