Strength in Every Season: Ashlyn’s Multi-Sport Journey

At just 15 years old, Ashlyn Fischer is already balancing what many athletes spend years trying to master.

A three-sport athlete entering her sophomore year of high school at Le Sueur-Henderson, Ashlyn competes in volleyball, soccer, and track & field. Each season brings different demands, different goals, and different opportunities to grow. Through it all, she continues to push herself to improve, not just as an athlete, but as a leader and teammate.

That commitment to growth is what brought Ashlyn to Performance Lab, where she trains to build strength, improve performance, and stay healthy through the demands of year-round competition.

For Ashlyn, being a multi-sport athlete is about more than competition. “I enjoy being physically active, showing others my abilities, and building strong relationships with my teams,” she shared. While balancing practices, games, training sessions, and school can be challenging, Ashlyn has learned how to manage the demands that come with competing year-round. “Balancing my schedule is tough at times, but I prioritize the things that matter most. My coaches are very flexible and supportive when it comes to my other sporting activities.”

That discipline and commitment are already paying off. Ashlyn has earned recognition as South Central Conference Track & Field Competitor of the Year and was also named All-Conference in volleyball, impressive accomplishments for an athlete still early in her high school career.

But her goals are far from finished.

Volleyball is currently her favorite sport, with soccer close behind. In volleyball, she hopes to reach 500 career kills by her junior year and earn the opportunity to serve as captain. In soccer and track, leadership is just as important to her as performance.

“My goal is to encourage others and help them feel confident. I want to be someone younger athletes can look up to.”

That mindset is one of the things that makes Ashlyn stand out.

Her journey at Performance Lab started with a clear goal: build strength, improve endurance, and reduce injury risk. As Ashlyn’s mom, Dihanna, explained, “We wanted to increase her strength and endurance after a couple injuries. Our goal was to prevent further injuries and help her learn how to lift and train properly so she could continue excelling in her sports.”

From the beginning, Performance Lab felt like the right fit. “The open environment, flexibility, and support stood out to me,” Ashlyn said. “They adjust to your physical abilities and mental needs. The workouts are based on your abilities and injuries.” As a multi-sport athlete with a packed schedule, flexibility matters. Practices sometimes overlap with training sessions, but Ashlyn says communication has made it easy to stay consistent. “If I’m running late because of practice or need to move a workout to another day, they work with me.”

Ashlyn’s training at is built around the unique demands of being a multi-sport athlete.

Unlike athletes competing in a single season, multi-sport athletes place different demands on their bodies throughout the year. Training needs to account for changing movement patterns, sport-specific performance goals, and recovery between seasons.

At Performance Lab, athletes like Ashlyn follow individualized programming designed to improve strength, speed, and durability while helping reduce injury risk. That personalized approach allows her to train for long-term performance, no matter what season she’s in.

Even with a 30-minute drive to get to Performance Lab, Ashlyn sees every session as worthwhile. That drive gives her time to reset, grab something to eat, change, and mentally prepare for training.

Once she arrives, it’s time to work.

“I make every minute count. I push myself, build confidence, and put in the work to get stronger.”

The results have been significant. Since training at Performance Lab, Ashlyn has seen noticeable improvements in strength, speed, confidence, and recovery.

“My confidence and concentration have improved significantly. My strength has increased dramatically in my arms and lower body. I’ve run a lot of PRs, and that strength has helped improve my speed.”

She has also learned something equally important: how to better care for her body. With year-round competition comes wear and tear, and injury prevention has become a major part of Ashlyn’s growth.

“These past seasons, I’ve learned how to better care for injuries, prevent them, and recover properly.”

That growth hasn’t gone unnoticed. Dihanna says one of the biggest changes she has seen in Ashlyn is her confidence.

“She has gained not only muscle, but confidence in her abilities as an athlete.”

Ashlyn’s performance has earned recognition from coaches, teammates, local supporters, and even college programs that have already taken notice of her athletic potential. Still, what drives her most is not just personal success. It’s leadership, encouraging others, and helping younger athletes believe in themselves.

Looking ahead, Ashlyn has big goals for track season. She wants to become one of the top long jumpers in the state, reach 18 feet, break school records, and leave a lasting impact on her program.

But even bigger than the numbers is the legacy she hopes to leave behind.

“My biggest goal is to encourage other student-athletes that working hard will eventually pay off. I want to help build others’ confidence so they can grow not only as athletes, but as people too.”

That perspective says a lot about who Ashlyn is. She’s competitive. She’s disciplined. She’s driven. But she’s also focused on something bigger than herself.

At Performance Lab, we love working with athletes like Ashlyn, athletes who show up ready to work, ready to improve, and ready to lead.

Ashlyn is proving that success is about more than talent alone. It comes from consistency, discipline, and the willingness to put in the work every single day.

And at just 15 years old, she’s only getting started.
